Flora’s Lynden staff had the opportunity to participate in The Color Run Tropicolor World Tour on August 21st. Therefore, quite a few employees, as well as some of their family members, dressed up in colorful ensembles and were ready to toe the line on that beautiful, sunny morning. “The Color Run, the world’s first COLOR 5k™ event, was founded in March 2011 as an event to promote healthiness and happiness by bringing the community together to participate in the “Happiest 5k on the Planet”.
The start line was high energy with upbeat music blaring and a race announcer throwing swag out to thousands of excited runners. Next, the race started in waves, with runners heading toward Tropicolor Zones on the course, “where they were bathed in a tropical array of colors and delicious island scents as they passed through the shade of palm trees, arches, and island-style music.” Ages ranged from babies in strollers, toddlers getting an occasional piggy back from parents, on up to seniors checking off a bucket list item.
This colorful race will hopefully become an annual event for the Lynden staff and their families. We hope for even greater participation next year. For more information on The Color Run, visit their website: thecolorrun.com.
