A bulk-forming laxative to provide gentle relief of constipation and/or irregularity. Promotes bowel movements by increasing bulk volume and water content. Helps to maintain healthy cholesterol levels. Helps to lower total and LDL (bad) cholesterols when used as part of a low-fat diet in people with mild to moderate hypercholesterolemia. Lower cholesterol levels. Soluble fibre from psyllium husk, when used as part of a diet low in saturated fat and cholesterol, may reduce the risk of coronary heart disease.
MEDICINAL INGREDIENT:
Organic psyllium husk (Plantago ovata) . . . . . . . . . . 1.2 g
For the relief of constipation: Effects observed 12-24 hours after first dose, and may take 2-3 days.
Adults and Adolescents 13 years plus: Take 4 tsp. 2-3 times daily. To prepare, stir 4 level tsp. (4.8 g) into at least 250 mL (1 glass) water, juice or milk, stir briskly and drink immediately.
Children 6-12 years: Take 2 tsp. 2-3 times daily. To prepare, stir 2 level tsp. (2.4 g) into at least 125 mL (1/2 glass) water, juice or milk, stir briskly and drink immediately.
For lowering cholesterol: Adults: Take 3-4 tsp. 3 times daily. To prepare, stir 3-4 level tsp. (3.6-4.8 g) into at least 250 mL (1 glass) water, juice or milk, stir briskly and drink immediately. Take preferably before meals.
