The product is advertised as gluten free but then says may contain wheat?

Hello Alannah! Our Flax Oil is tested to ensure it is gluten free. The seeds are processed in a facility that also processes wheat and mustard plants, thus the allergen statement. Celiac disease and wheat allergy are two different things with different thresholds so while the product is safe for those with celiac disease (gluten free) there is a small chance that someone with a severe wheat allergy could have issues.

What are the amounts of omega 3 and 6 per teaspoon in Flora Organic Flax Seed Oil, and of the omega 3, how much DHA annd EPA is there per teaspoon please? Would be good to see this info on the label.

Hi Sue,
You can find the amounts of omega-3 and omega-6 listed on our Flax Oil label. It indicates 5g omega-3 and 1.5g omega-6 per 10 ml serving. The omega-3 in flax oil is in the form of ALA. Flax Oil does not contain DHA or EPA, although some of these can be made from ALA in the body, after digestion.

Is there any risk of fish or shellfish cross-contamination in the making of this oil?

is this product ok on hair and skin as well or its supposed to be eaten only? thanks

Our oils are food-grade, meaning they can also be used on hair and skin if you wish. You will not be getting the full benefits or intake of omega-3 and 6 essential fatty acids that way though. You could use the oil internally and externally though.
