I use the BEET CRYSTALS

I use the BEET CRYSTALS and CAYENNE POWDER to keep my blood pressure under control as I react badly to most medications. So grateful for the BEET CRYSTALS .

Shots are better

How much mg of nitrate in each portion

Hi Isa, thanks for letting us know that you prefer shots!

The beet crystals were measured for nitrate content, and they have 6700 mg per kg, which may help you calculate how much you get depending on how much you take. That means over 100 mg of beet nitrate per 15 g serving. There is also over 100 mg of betanin in the same serving.

3 tbsp of red beet crystals is made from approximately 270ml (just under 10 fl oz.) of juice, if you are comparing to studies using juice.

The following are the main minerals naturally present in the crystals, in approximate amounts:
Calcium: 502 mcg/g
Iron: 19 mcg/g
Potassium: 18600 mcg/g
Magnesium: 1520 mcg/g
Manganese: 16 mcg/g
Sodium: 2940 mcg/g
Phosphorous: 2260 mcg/g
Silica: 65.5 mcg/g

Let me know if we can provide any other info.
All the best,
Flora Health

I would like to know the oxalate content in this product. Thank you.

FloraHealth Canada

Hi Wendy,

Thank you for the question and interest in the Flora Red Beet Crystals.

I do not know the answer offhand as that is not a variable that we track for every lot, though I am sure there are some. You could consider consuming Magnesium citrate at the same time to make it easier to excrete any oxalates. I will ask about it and get back to you soon.

Best,
Flora Health

Q: My wife is very pleased with your product. When I tried it today, it was less than an hour before a full migraine commenced. I have a history of aural migraines but this one was full different with full pain, loss of balance, nausea and additional issues. So I ask this question with respect and without any accusations, only to view it as an opportunity to discover what caused the reaction. Hopefully it might shed some light on the trigger for the aural migraines which I occasionally experience. Can you provide details on the manufacturing process and any minor additions might be involved in the dehydration from liquid to crystal? The source and provider of the crystallized citric acid so I might investigate further? Any ingredients that are of label because the concentration is inconsequential for labelling purposes? It may be life changing for me as I suffer from Gluten Ataxia, a progressive degenerative neurological disorder. Any help you could provide would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

FloraHealth Canada

Hello Payson,
Sorry to hear of your experience but thank you for sharing the details. Our Flora Red Beet Crystals are made from organic beets in Switzerland. A hydraulic press is used to press the juice, which is then vacuum dehydrated to form the crystals. The only other ingredient is less than 2% citric acid, which is derived by fermentation of vegetable derived sugar. The citric acid is vegan, non-GMO and compatible with organic products. I will send you a separate email regarding your reaction so we can better document it.
Best regards,
Flora Health

Hi! What is the amount of nitrate per serving (5g)? Your product is very good I usually drink Beet juice and would like to compare Thank you

FloraHealth Canada

Hi Jim, Yes, we have analyzed the Red Beet Crystals to know their nitrate content! The crystals have been found to have 6700mg/kg. This means each 200g jar should have 1340mg of beet nitrates. That's 33.5 mg in every 5 mg. There are many factors that can affect how those nitrates will be converted to nitric oxide in the body, and we made an infographic on the topic, I will email it to you.
