Homemade Oat Milk with Mānuka Honey

Ingredients

  • ½ cup old-fashioned rolled oats
  • 3 cups very cold water
  • 2 teaspoons Flora Mānuka Honey
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla
  • ⅛ teaspoon Himalayan salt

Easily Customize the Recipe

Chilling: If your blender runs hot, use ice in place of water to prevent the oats from developing the flavour or texture of oatmeal.

Straining:fine weave cheesecloth will create a luxuriously creamy smooth milk. If using a loose weave or metal strainer, avoid forcing or pushing the pulp to avoid a gritty result.

Perfecting: Add more honey to taste, use Certified Gluten-Free oats, or leave out the vanilla. For a light and drinkable milk with less sediment, increase the water and use a clean tea towel as a filter.

Basic Instructions

Combine oats, water, mānuka honey, vanilla, and salt in a blender and blend for 30 seconds. Then strain through a fine cheesecloth into a wide-mouthed pitcher or bowl. Ta da!

Refrigerate remaining oat milk in a sealed container and use within 5 days.
