Ingredients
- 1 or more heaping scoops of Flora Elderberry Crystals
- ¼ tsp warming spices of your choice (suggestions: cinnamon, cardamom, allspice, ground ginger, apple pie spice, pumpkin pie spice, or chai masala)
- ½ teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
- 1 tablespoon yacon syrup (low glycemic natural sweetener) or maple syrup
Directions:
- Mix the Base: In a mug, combine your Flora Elderberry Crystals and chosen warming spices.
- Heat the Milk: On the Stovetop: Pour your milk of choice into a saucepan. Set it over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until it’s just hot to the touch – don’t let it boil.
- Add Froth: Once heated, use a hand frother or whisk to froth the milk by swirling it in a circular motion until it becomes creamy and frothy. No frother? No problem!
- Via Blender: Pour warm milk into a blender and blend on high for about 30 seconds until frothy.
- Using a Jar: Pour cold milk into a jar, seal it tight, and shake vigorously. This will froth it up. Then, remove the lid and microwave the jar (without the metal lid!) for about 30 seconds, or warm it using your stove by transferring the milk to a saucepan, ensuring the froth stays intact.
- Assemble the Drink: Carefully pour the warm, frothed milk into the mug over your spices and crystals. Stir in the vanilla extract and yacon or maple syrup to taste.
- Enjoy the cozy warmth in every sip!
Notes:
For the best froth, use full-bodied milks like whole milk, barista blends of plant milks, or soy milk. They have the perfect combination of proteins, sugars, and fat for frothing. Avoid thinner milks like low-fat rice or almond kinds, as they may result in a less frothy drink.
